I. Ensure Company Window Path is correct

  • For Sage Accounts v22: Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8, or 10-C: >Program Data>Sage>Accounts>2016
  • For Sage Accounts v21: Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8, or 10-C: >Program Data>Sage>Accounts>2015
  • For Sage Accounts 2014 (v20): Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Window 8-C: >Program Data>Sage>Accounts>2014
  • For Windows XP – C: >Documents and Settings>All Users>Application Data>Sage>Accounts>2014
  1. Once you locate the company file and double-click on it.
  2. Click on the option Open with Notepad
  3. Make improvements in the relevant line of the COMPANY file
  4. Click on  FileSave

III. Activate Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5

The Invalid directory path message can also arise after Windows updates which disables the Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5.

  1. Hold the WindowsR Now enter the appwiz.cpl then click on OK
  2. Select the Turn Windows features on or off option
  3. Un-check the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 or 3.5, if the box is cleared already continue the next step
  4. Re-click on the Turn Windows features on or off
  5. Verify that the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 or 5 box is checked
  6. Then click on OK
  7. If prompts, then click on the Download files from Windows Update
  8. Click on Restart now button if required
